Having watched a few streamers struggle with the game recently I realized there may still be a need for a quick guide on how to get the most enjoyment from the game. The only other thing I can think of is driver competence/aggressiveness, which affects flat-spotting the tires, and is modelled bya sudden decrease in your tire wear. The weather-based track grip variable doesn't seem to affect wear either, although the baseline tire wear value baked into the track and alluded to in your briefing does, I think. The more the car slides on the track the slower it will go since it's losing motive force to sliding. Driving on them is like driving on marbles since they break traction. Outside of that line are the "marbles": bits of tire/tyre that come off and are spun off to the side of the track. The cars will establish a racing line along the optimum path around the track, and that's where grip strengthens allowing the car to better hold to the track. Track grip in perfect conditions increases as the race goes on.
